Ingot’s Alan Maynard Shows His Passion for Rugby

Ingot’s Alan Maynard Shows His Passion for Rugby

Ingot MD, Alan Maynard fell in love with rugby at the tender
age of six, enjoying several years of playing the sport before retiring from
the joys of line-outs, scrums and grubber kicking. During his playing career, Alan
was always so impressed by the dedication of the coaches, managers and physios
who volunteered their time to the sport that he vowed to one day do the same. Alan
is now a long serving volunteer for the Ipswich Rugby Club, helping to promote
the club by sponsoring a regular newsletter and charting all their latest news
and information. The club is currently building in strength and success – all
great ways to attract new players, young and old, male or female into the
sport. On Sundays Alan reports that they have “literally hundreds of children
turning up to train,” guided and supported as always by unpaid coaches,
“passing their love of the game and their knowledge on.” Alan is certainly keen
to support his local sporting community as much as he can, and currently also
sponsors the Ipswich YM RUFC first 15.
